Natural Breast Enhancement - Just How Effective are Natural Breast Enhancement Products?

So, what are your options for natural breast enhancement if you are seeking ways to non-surgically alter (augment) the size of your breasts? Some may still say there is no way to increase your breast size other than breast augmentation surgery (breast
implants). This, quite simply, is not true.

There are, in fact, natural breast enhancement products, pills, systems and treatments that will not only increase the size of your breasts, but make them firmer, more toned and more
lifted. http://www.breastenhancepill.com

The natural breast enhancement market is currently flooding with a slew of cheap imitation supplements and other natural breast enhancement products that do nothing more than temporarily bloat you with water retention, making your breasts swell, only to then have them return to their normal size when the product use is discontinued.

A good rule of thumb here is that old cliche, "you get what you pay for". If you buy a $20.00 natural breast enhancement product, you can expect the same value in return for your results. On the other hand, there are some very effective phytoestrogen and non-phytoestrogen natural breast enhancement products that deliver very satisfactory results after a couple months of usage, and for a very affordable price compared to surgical breast augmentation.

It is highly recommended that in order to get the best results from your chosen natural breast enhancement product, you stay on the treatment for 6 months consecutively. This increases your chances for successful permanent breast growth and
maintenance, and also increases the maximum cup size you will achieve.

What are the results you can realistically expect from a quality natural breast enhancement product? To better understand what herbal and natural breast enhancement supplements do I'll tell you what "average" customers tell us.

Most women have this to say after anywhere from one to six months of being on herbal breast enhancement:

* Breasts felt tender and possibly even like pre-period breast pain withing about one month of use, but usually no growth at this point

* At 4-6 months many may experience roughly 1/2 cup size increase

As a customer of natural breast enhancement, I can testify to the fact that (some, not all!) of these natural breast enhancement products really can be a very effective
alternative to breast augmentation surgery to those who are not satisfied with their current breast size.

I personally experienced almost a full cup size increase in the course of about 5 months of natural breast enhancement treatment and still have maintained it almost two years later. There really is nothing to lose since most quality natural breast enhancement products offer a money back guarantee of some sort. So, before you give up on getting the breasts you've always desired, take a look at your options - you will find they are genuinely effective!

Fertility After Forty

The most fertile years of a woman's life are those between 18 and 28. Even into the mid-thirties, it is usually fairly easy to conceive and carry a pregnancy to term. During these years the hormones that control ovulation, enhance conception, and ensure a healthy pregnancy are usually made easily and in generous quantities. And detrimental life-style choices have not had decades of repetition to create chronic problems.

But more and more women are waiting until their late thirties, early forties, even late forties, to have children. Is this too late? Are these destined to have high-risk pregnancies? Will these children have more birth defects?

The answer to these questions - and others like them - is "no!" for wise women who enlist the help of green allies to increase fertility, ensure conception, prevent birth defects, and promote a healthy pregnancy and an easy delivery.

INCREASING FERTILITY; ENSURING CONCEPTION

Increase your chances of conception by meditating. Cultivating a calm attitude, not surprisingly, enhances fertility. Even taking a quiet five minutes alone just for you, free of all responsibilities, can bring big results if done frequently enough.

Use lunaception to time your ovulation so you have the best odds of conceiving. It's fine to have sex in the weeks before ovulation, especially if the sex is focused on the woman and her orgasm, but do save your best efforts for those three nights when your "moon" is full and bright and ready to frolic.

Orgasm on the part of the male is necessary for fertilization. The woman's orgasm does increase the possibility of conception. Women who experience orgasm after their partner (up to 40 minutes after his ejaculation) have the very best chance of becoming pregnant.

Red clover is the single best remedy for women over forty who want to conceive but can't - even if there are medical reasons for not conceiving such as blocked tubes, diabetes, ovarian cysts, internal scarring, or endometriosis. There are many heart-warming success stories I could share about red clover! But suffice to say, drinking 2-4 cups of the infusion of the dried blossoms (neither tincture nor tea nor pills will work for this application) seems to do wonders for fertility, no matter what your age.

PREVENTING BIRTH DEFECTS

Boosting your nutritional status makes birth defects less of a worry. Women who drink 2-4 cups of stinging nettle infusion daily and eat cooked leafy greens as well as lettuce salads are getting the abundant folic acid, calcium, magnesium, and other minerals needed to create a healthy baby. (Tinctures, pills, and teas contain little or none of these important nutrients.)

Vitamin E is an especially critical nutrient for fertility after forty and freedom from birth defects. Freshly-ground wheat flour, cold-pressed oils, and nut butters are all good sources of vitamin E, as are stinging nettle infusion and most cooked seaweed, such as kelp. The man's vitamin E level has as much, if not more, bearing on freedom from birth defects as does the woman's vitamin E level.

Avoid heat, both of you. Hot tubs, even prolonged soaking in a hot bath, can cause temporary (up to several months) sterility in some men. In women, it can endanger the early embryo and trigger a miscarriage or birth defects.

Avoid drugs, both of you, including alcohol, tobacco, coffee, as well as over-the-counter drugs and prescription drugs (except those you absolutely need). Your liver needs to be strong and so do your kidneys, so you can conceive and gestate a child. Instead of alcohol, which damages the liver, drink herbal infusions or alcohol-free wine or beer. Instead of tobacco, which may contribute to birth defects and low birth weight, try smoking a little dried peppermint, or, better yet, go for a walk. Instead of coffee, which challenges the kidneys, you may wish to drink green tea or black tea, or try coffee substitutes, especially the one made with dandelion roots. Instead of drugs to ease everyday aches and pains, use the gentle herbal remedies in this book instead.

EMOTIONAL ISSUES

Ambivalence about pregnancy and parenthood is normal and natural. But the older a woman gets, the more complicated her emotions about it may be. Add to her emotional soup pot strong opinions from family and friends, confusing information spread by the popular media, and fear-inducing pronouncements from "helpful" medical professionals, and that pot will be in danger of boiling over. Herewith then, some wise woman hints for keeping your cool in the midst of overt and covert confusion.

Contrary to current opinion, having children in your forties is ordinary and common worldwide. The Bible mentions several women having children in their fifties. What is unusual and unique to our time is having a first child in one's forties. Our mother's, mother's, mothers were having their fifth or eighth or tenth child when they were in their forties, not their first. If people tell you it just isn't done, close your eyes and call upon the spirit of your great-great-great-great grandmother, then smile and tell them it seems utterly ordinary to you.

Feeling tense and distressed about choosing or refusing motherhood?

Motherwort tincture is my favorite calmative. A dose of 10-20 drops helps clear your mind, eases your tension, and assists you in discerning the best path to follow.

Bach flower remedies excel as helpers when you are feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Try:

    * Aspen when you feel anxious, apprehensive, or afraid of the unknown.
    * Mimulus when you are dwelling on a specific fear.
    * Elm when you feel overwhelmed or inadequate.
    * Red Chestnut when you are afraid for or worried about your baby to be.
    * Rock Rose when you are trembling, shaking, or weeping from anxiety or fear.

Regular gentle massage or Reiki treatments not only help you calm your distress, they also guide you in creating a strong center that's resistant to being pushed around by other people's opinions. Massage and/or Reiki also help prepare your mind/body for a healthy pregnancy and a safe birth.

SPECIAL ALLIES FOR PREGNANT WOMEN OVER FORTY

The single most important herb for pregnant women over forty is comfrey (Symphytum uplandica hybrids). The leaves of the mature plant contain an abundance of constituents beneficial to mother and babe, including generous amounts of minerals, alantoin, proteins, and many vitamins. The minerals in comfrey help ensure healthy nervous system growth; the fetus's developing brain uses the proteins. And the alantoin helps the mother's tissues become stretchy and elastic.

Aging can lead to increased stiffness and brittleness in bones and muscles, making pregnancy more arduous and painful, labor slower and more difficult, and injury more likely during birth. The hormones of pregnancy, which help soften and relax the pelvic tissues, may not be produced in adequate amounts. Comfrey comes to the rescue! Comfrey creates flexible and strong tissues throughout the body especially mucus surfaces (including intestines, uterus, bladder and vagina), the bones, the ligaments and tendons, and the skin.

Regular use of the leaf infusion, at least a quart a week, promotes a safe delivery by:

    * strengthening uterine muscles and preparing them to work easily and well
    * strengthening perineal tissues so they become resistant to tearing
    * strengthening uterine ligaments so the uterus does not prolapse
    * strengthening the bladder and increasing resistance to bacterial infection
    * strengthening the vagina and helping to promote an environment hostile to infection
    * providing easily assimilated minerals to prevent eclampsia and other complications
    * helping the bones of the pelvis flex and open during birth
    * increasing iron in the blood and thus forestalling post-partum hemorrhage.

I harvest the flowering stalks when they are fully formed; and I am careful to use the cultivated garden comfrey, which grows very tall and has purplish, pinkish, bluish flowers. I avoid wild comfrey, which stays rather small even when flowering, and has cream-colored, white, or yellowish flowers.

Some people feel that comfrey is not safe to use during pregnancy. Some people feel comfrey is not safe to use internally at all. I disagree. The roots of comfrey do contain compounds that are best avoided during pregnancy (as do all parts of the wild plant). In fact, I rarely use comfrey root because of the possibility of liver congestion, and I strongly caution those who have had hepatitis, chemotherapy, or alcohol problems to strictly avoid comfrey root. Yet even these people can benefit from use of comfrey leaf infusions.

Another important herbal ally for women over forty who desire a child is chaste tree (Vitex agnus-castii). It has been used in Africa and parts of Europe for several thousand years to discourage the male libido. In women, the effects seem to be the opposite! It may also be a fertility enhancer. Most importantly, chaste tree is a strengthening tonic for the pituitary gland, the master control gland for the endocrine system. Daily use of the tincture of the berries (1 dropperful/1 ml 2-3 times daily) had been shown to increase progesterone - the hormone of pregnancy - and luteinizing hormone - which promotes conception. Because it can lower prolactin levels, chaste tree is best discontinued during the last trimester of pregnancy.

Dong quai (Angelica sinensis) is not recommended for women over forty. In general, this herb promotes blood flow to the uterus and surrounding tissues. This can promote the growth of fibroids and increase the risk of post-partum hemorrhage. Ginger is a better warming tonic; motherwort is better at relieving pain; and raspberry is better at preparing the uterus for birth.

Ephedra Ban Lifted

April 14,2005 federal judge Tena Campbell of the federal district court in Salt Lake City Utah reversed the ban on ephedra.

Ephedra is a herb used over 5000 years ago to treat several disorders, such as asthma and bronchitis.Because ephedra has the ability to increase metabolism, and burn fat it became a popular ingredient used in diet pills.

About 12 to 17 million people consumed ephedra in 1999, reports the American Herbal Products Association. The Nutrition Business Journal estimated that sales of ephedra in 2002 were $1.25 billion.

Ephedra is so powerful its safety was questioned, the FDA removed ephedra also known by its chinese name Ma-huang from the market in April 2004, claiming that it was responsible for dozens of deaths.

The ban on ephedra didn't affect the sale of over-the-counter cold medications such as decongestants which often contain ephedrine in synthetic form.

Judge Campbell states that drug agencies had failed to prove that ephedra at low doses was dangerous, and that it lacked the authority to ban the substance without such proof. She called
for the FDA to lift the ban on ephedra.

The US ban on ephedra was lifted, among other things the court clarified that the FDA must follow the 1994 Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act(DSHEA),and can not treat dietary
supplements like drugs or medical devices.

According to the court low doses of ephedra do not pose significant or unreasonable risk by a preponderance of the evidence.Companies that sell ephedra based products are allowed to resume selling whole herb ephedra products with no more than 10mg of naturally occurring ephedrine alkaloids.

The 4 Deadly Mistakes of Wife Seduction

When a guy gets turned down over and over again (during the seduction process) in his relationship with his wife (or girlfriend) he often attempts to make adjustments. You are about to learn the 4 deadly mistakes guys make when attempting to correct the problem with their “not in the mood” female partner.

Deadly Wife Seduction Mistake # 1

Trying to learn how to be an awesome lover. I’m referring to becoming better in bed. This may shock the hell out of you, but I’ll explain. Here is what the guy thinks:

The wrong approach: He thinks that if he becomes so good in bed, his wife will want to keep coming back for more.

Here is why the thinking is flawed. The guy thinks if he puts on a world class performance she will want it all the time. It doesn't matter how good you are in bed if you are a lousy sexual salesmen she will not buy into your offer. There is a such thing as poor salesmanship. A poor salesman couldn't sell hundred dollar bills for 50 cents.

Trust me, I've seen poor salesman in action. And many cases they will talk themselves out of the sale. They end up convincing the person not to buy. Keep this in mind: SEX is the product and SEDUCTION (or the word I like to use is SEXUALLY INSPIRE) is the process of selling the product. I'll give you another example.

I could be thinking about eating a bacon cheeseburger from a certain fast food restaurant. I know it tastes great because I had it before, but I'm not inspired to eat it.

But when I see the commercial (which seduces me), I suddenly have a strong urge to have it - and as a result I will hop in my car and drive out there to get it.

So it wouldn't matter too much if they kept trying to make the burger better and better and better. So that is the mistake that guys make. They try to improve the product (i.e sex or the burger), but NOT the more important selling process.
If you have little sexual value it will be hard enough to get her to agree to have sex.

But what you do technically will not matter as much.
If a woman can cum from thought a lone, then that must mean the mental side of things is very important.

Have you ever been caressing a woman and suddenly she begins to orgasm? I remember one time being alone with a female and things were getting hot and steamy. We still had our clothes on. I began rubbing her all over while kissing her. I stopped kissing her and just focused on rubbing her – in a matter of seconds she begins to orgasm.

If you get a woman really turned on, this can happen. It depends on the woman and how your sexual value. My point is it wasn’t the fact that she was being rubbed that resulted in her cumming. It was the fact that she was being rubbed by someone with sexual value.

So when guys try to learn how to be better in bed, they are not considering the most important part – and that is increasing their sexual value.

The right approach:
1 You must increase your sexual value
2 You must focus on selling (seduction) instead of improving the product (getting better at sex)

Deadly Wife Seduction Mistake # 2

The wrong approach: Focusing on how you should approach her. Here is why the thinking is flawed.

The guy thinks that he has to approach her a certain way and then she will accept him. He is partially right. But the fact that he focuses all of his mental energy on figuring out what the right approach is instead of working on increasing his sexual value makes him completely wrong.

If you have little sexual value it doesn't matter how you approach her. That's like saying:

What would a 900lb woman have to do to get you in the mood?

If she has no sexual to you, then the answer is nothing. Imagine if you saw her obsessing over how to approach you for sex. That is actually the perfect analogy because guys are more physically turned on and women are more psychologically turned on.

Wouldn't you agree that in order for her acceptance rate to increase her sexual value would have to increase. (i.e lose weight or something).

The right approach:
1 You must increase your sexual value.

Deadly Wife Seduction Mistake # 3

The wrong approach: Trying to give her pills/herbs to make her horny. Here is why the thinking is flawed.

You can read a similar analogy on superhappysex.com (scroll down to the first Yellow Box)

If you have no sexual value then it doesn't matter if the pills succeed in getting her horny. This actually could work against you in some cases. Here's the deal, if she gets horny and you have no sexual value, then she would rather masturbate than to have sex with you.

And the reason why it could work against you over the long run is because if she is always in a horny state then the guys that have sexual value in her eyes are the ones that are going to be more appealing - over time.

Does that make sense?

Let's say we lived in a world where a pig could talk and interact with you, but they still had the sexual value of a regular pig.
By the way: This analogy was nominated for the Bizarre Analogy Award. (that’s a joke)

Let's say this pig gave you (secretly or non-secretly) 2 pills of HERBAL-X ROCK HARD. These pills had 90000 mg of Yohimbe and 90000 mg of Ginseng, and any herb you can think of it had 90000 mgs of it (and miraculously your heart didn’t explode!)..in seconds your member was up in the air! (approx 5 degrees away from your belly).

Would you screw the pig if you became super aroused? The answer is no. (right?)
The pig has no sexual value. So in order for you to screw the pig, it would have to increase his sexual value. It would have to maybe put on some fishnet stockings (or shed that nasty gut).

The right approach:
1 You must increase your sexual value.

Deadly Wife Seduction Mistake # 4

The wrong approach: Asking her to explain why she is not in the mood? Here is why the thinking is flawed.

The guy thinks his wife will tell him why she isn’t sexually attracted to him (anymore). And then all he has to is make the changes, and then presto!

The problem is she doesn't know. She knows what she is consciously attracted to (i.e the nice guy that does nice things – i.e her husband or the man she loves) but she doesn't know what she is unconsciously attracted to.

[By the way – Any guy that has read superlustbuttons.com knows what I mean. When you read that, you are going to beg me to take the site down so that other guys don’t use that secret system]

The mechanisms that inspire horniness is foreign to her.
She doesn't know what moves her on a deep down level. Here's an example. If you asked a person that just gave up on diet why he is no longer on the diet, he is not going to give you the real (deep down) answer.

However, he will give you the false (surface – or what he thinks) answer and he may believe this is the truth but it's not the truth.

It's false.

His surface answer will be that the diet failed, or that it was a dumb diet - something like that. But the real (deep down) reason is because he may have never believed he could succeed in the first place.

He may have had no hope. He may have to increase his will-power. He may not have been serious about solving his problem.

The right approach:
You must increase your sexual value. She responds unconsciously to things that she is not aware of.

Warmly,

5 Steps To Better Sleep

If you've ever found yourself counting sheep into the wee hours, then you can take some small comfort from the fact that you’re not alone.

Insomnia is plaguing more and more people each year and with the stresses of our daily lives, it's no surprise. For more than 75% of Americans polled by the National Sleep Foundation, getting a good night's sleep feels more like a distant dream than a reality.

The good news is that enjoying a full and healthy night's sleep is easier than you might think. You can improve the quality and duration of your sleep without resorting to sleeping pills or other artificial sleep aids. All you need to start your journey towards better sleep are these five simple steps:

Establish a routine

Creating a consistent bedtime routine is one of the most important steps you can take towards getting a good night's sleep. Going to bed at the same time each night and getting up at the same time each morning is the first step towards establishing a consistent sleep pattern.

A successful sleep routine also involves reducing outside stimulants like television, computer work and exercise two to three hours before bed, and refraining from caffeine at least three hours before bedtime.

Create a peaceful sleeping environment

Achieving better sleep depends upon a relaxed, peaceful sleeping environment. For the best possible sleep, remove distractions such as televisions, stereos and computers from your bedroom. Keep your bedroom temperature cool. Gentle air circulation through an open window and fresh, clean bed linens also help to promote a good night's sleep.

Reduce stress

Thoughts of work, financial problems and family concerns can often prevent a good night's sleep. Try reducing stimulants, using aromatherapy, a warm bath or some deep breathing and relaxation exercises to induce sleep, reduce stress and decrease the anxiety that can cause insomnia.

Adjust your diet

Maintaining a balanced diet is also one of the keys to enjoying a regular and fulfilling night's sleep. A healthy diet assists the bodily functions necessary for sound sleep. If you aren’t following a healthy pattern of eating, you may find that altering the balance of your diet will dramatically improve the quality and duration of your sleep.

Use herbs or aromatherapy

Aromatherapy candles or oils and herbal teas are just two natural sleep aids that can significantly improve your nightly sleep. A variety of herbs enjoy a long history of use in addressing the problem of insomnia and in helping to induce better sleep.

Try burning a calming aromatherapy candle or adding soothing essential oils to a warm bath to help your body and mind wind down before bed. You might also try sipping chamomile tea (an age-old sleep remedy) an hour or so before bed to prepare your body for the good night's sleep you've been dreaming about.

The key to achieving better sleep

The five simple steps outlined here represent the basic framework for establishing a pattern of better sleep and provide an excellent starting point if you find yourself amongst the growing band of people suffering from insomnia. The key to achieving better sleep in the long-term doesn’t, as many people believe, lie in reaching for the sleeping pills, but lies in finding a natural solution that works for you.

Narcolepsy - The Management of a Common Sleep Disorder

Narcolepsy, a chronic and commonly diagnosed sleep disorder, affects over a quarter of a million Americans each year (approximately one person in every two thousand). Characterized by the body's inability to properly regulate sleep, narcolepsy's most obvious symptoms can include cataplexy (involuntary loss of muscle control), "automatic" behaviors (performing regular, mundane tasks by rote), hallucinations and paralysis during sleep.

However, narcolepsy is most commonly associated with the onset of "mini sleeps" or "sleep attacks" during the day. These narcoleptic episodes (often referred to as EDS or excessive daytime sleepiness) occur when the individual is suddenly overcome by the urge to sleep. The resulting state of narcolepsis can pass within a few seconds or it can last for more than half an hour.

Relatively recent medical research identifies narcolepsy as a genetically based sleep regulation disorder that usually emerges during the middle and late teenage years. However, strong evidence also suggests that some forms of the condition can be caused by head trauma or brain injury. Regardless of the cause, because the characteristics of narcolepsy can also be symptomatic of other, similar sleep disorders, a thorough medical evaluation (often including a variety of overnight sleep tests) is required for a correct diagnosis.

Although scientists continue to close in on the genes connected with the onset of narcolepsy, treatments for narcoleptics still vary widely. Common treatments include the use of approved prescription drugs, such as modafinil and selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors like fluoxitine and sertroline, to treat the excessive daytime sleepiness.

In large part however the management of narcolepsy depends upon what appears most effective for the individual, and because no cure exists at this time, the available treatments primarily address the sleep disorder's symptoms.

For most narcoleptics a combination of prescription medications, natural sleep remedies and behavioral strategies prove the best means of effectively managing their narcolepsy. This pro-active approach to dealing with the condition involves simple lifestyle adjustments to enhance the quality and duration of each night's sleep (including dietary changes and the use of regular exercise) as well as actively managed sleep cycles that incorporate short, scheduled naps. A variety of natural sleep remedies can also successfully help narcoleptics manage their condition.

Herbal teas and infusions can effectively help to induce and enhance the body's natural sleep cycle and offer a healthful alternative to sleeping pills. Supplementary melatonin (the hormone produced as part of the body's natural sleep cycle) may also help narcoleptics enjoy a better night's sleep. Guided meditation and relaxation, chromatherapy and aromatherapy can also prove valuable natural enhancements to the successful management of narcolepsy.

Sleep Apnea - An Extremely Common and Dangerous Sleep Disorder

Sleep apnea refers to a sleep disorder characterized by the interruption of breathing during sleep, such that respiration stops for ten or more seconds, cutting off valuable oxygen supplies to the brain. This interruption of the body's breathing cycle can recur hundreds of times each night, with potentially fatal results. Even more alarming, sleep apnea, the most dangerous of all sleep disorders, also represents one of the most commonly identified sleep disorders, affecting as many as eighteen million Americans each year.

This condition can be divided into two primary categories. "Central sleep apnea", caused by a neurological malfunction in which the brain somehow disrupts the normal signal to breathe and "Obstructive sleep apnea", characterized by the excessive relaxation or the collapse of muscles around the windpipe, which in turn causes windpipe obstruction. Both forms involve the frequent cessation of breathing and the temporary suspension of the oxygen supply to the brain, putting sleep apnea sufferers at a significantly greater risk of high blood pressure, heart attack and stroke.

Diagnosing sleep apnea can be difficult. Snoring, one of the most common symptoms associated with sleep apnea (resulting in many people referring to this as "the snoring disease"), often leads to an erroneous diagnosis of the condition. In fact, snoring can be associated with a variety of other sleep disorders and conditions unrelated to sleep apnea.

When the brain senses a lack of oxygen, as a result of an obstructed windpipe, it reacts by waking the suffer sufficiently to start breathing again, often causing snoring or sometimes coughing. As a result, sleep apnea suffers enjoy a very poor quality of sleep and wake up feeling even more tired than before they went to bed.

Feelings of exhaustion, fatigue and an overwhelming desire to sleep during the day, known as excessive daytime sleepiness, characterize sleep apnea; especially if seen in conjunction with other symptoms such as morning headaches, noticeable lethargy, loss of interest in sex, forgetfulness and difficulty concentrating.

The ongoing exhaustion and physical fatigue brought on by undiagnosed or untreated sleep apnea can also lead to the onset of serious psychological symptoms such as depression, irritability and changes in mood and behavior.

If you suspect that you are suffering from sleep apnea, you should seek immediate medical guidance and, if necessary, arrange the appropriate tests.

There are a variety of effective treatments available for both obstructive and central sleep apnea. Most patients benefit significantly from one or more of these treatments, which primarily involve simple behavioral adjustments like changing or modifying your sleeping position. Sufferers of mild obstructive sleep apnea as a result of persistent nasal congestion may simply require a course of decongestants, while more severe sleep apnea may need the use of an oxygen mask to stimulate consistent breathing while asleep. In severe cases of obstructive sleep apnea, certain surgical procedures can help to restore effective and consistent respiration during sleep, although sufferers should proceed down this particular route with caution, as surgery can often lead to added complications.

One important point to note is that, because of the risk of potentially fatal respiratory arrest, sleep apnea sufferers should refrain from taking sleeping pills or artificial sleep enhancers because of the associated respiratory dangers.

Natural sleep remedies provide an effective complement to medically prescribed treatments and can certainly help sufferers to enjoy a better night's sleep. Herbal remedies designed to improve the quality and duration of sleep can assist patients in managing and even reducing the excessive daytime sleepiness otherwise brought on by sleep apnea.

Similarly, the use of aromatherapy, chromatherapy and guided relaxation and meditation can help to reduce the anxiety and insomnia sleep apnea patients experience as they learn to manage their sleep disorder.

Sleep Disorder - To Call The Doctor Or Not?

Experiencing difficulty in sleeping for any great length of time may well indicate that you suffer from a common sleep disorder.

Today more than 35 million Americans reportedly suffer from a chronic sleep disorder (sleeping difficulty that lasts for more than one month) and as many as 30 million more suffer from a shorter term or "transient" sleep disorder (sleeping difficulty that lasts for less than four weeks).

Commonly triggered by upcoming events (such as important meetings or interviews), jet lag, or a passing illness (like a cold or the flu), a mild sleep disorder presents relatively little difficulty in terms of its management and, if left to its own devices, will often pass quite quickly. This said, many simple steps can be taken to both reduce the effects of mild insomnia and to speed its passing.

A persistent sleep disorder however will rarely disappear of its own accord and may well require pro-active treatment. Prolonged sleep disorders include conditions such as chronic insomnia, restless legs syndrome, sleep apnea and narcolepsy.

Difficulty in getting to sleep, staying asleep, waking through the night (and being unable to get back to sleep), or waking too early in the morning, when experienced for any length of time (and certainly for more than four or five weeks), warrants a diagnosis. You should also begin exploring natural sleep remedies that can help you get a better night's sleep, not to mention assisting you in effectively managing your problem.

The most commonly diagnosed sleep disorder, insomnia, also represents one of the easiest problems to treat. Simple lifestyle adjustments, structured relaxation or meditation, or a variety of herbal and natural sleep remedies will often provide a cure.

Like insomnia, sleep apnea is another sleep disorder that affects millions of Americans each year. The most dangerous of all sleep disorders, sleep apnea occurs when air flow through the windpipe is temporarily obstructed during sleep, often due to the relaxation or collapse of surrounding muscles. Sleep apnea is most commonly associated with snoring, although snoring alone is not necessarily indicative of sleep apnea.

Narcolepsy, a sleep disorder marked by uncontrolled "mini sleeps" during the day (even when the sufferer otherwise appears completely alert), is sometimes confused with sleep apnea; however, these represent two very different conditions.

Restless legs syndrome (RLS), another sleep disorder that ranks as one of the most frequently diagnosed, affects more than
twelve million people in the US alone each year. Unlike other common sleep disorders, restless legs syndrome combines the physical symptoms of a sleep disorder like insomnia with neural symptoms such as periodically uncontrolled limb movement and a tingling sensation in the legs and feet.

While a serious sleep disorder such as obstructive sleep apnea, chronic narcolepsy or restless legs syndrome requires the intervention of a medical professional, there are still various ways in which you can actively manage your sleep disorder. In fact, numerous natural sleep remedies can help you get a better night's sleep and effectively deal with your sleep disorder, without resorting to sleeping pills or artificial sleep enhancers.

These sleep remedies are too numerous to discuss them in any detail in this short article, but they include melatonin and valerian root, two natural alternatives to sleeping pills, as well as aromatherapy, color or chromatherapy and guided relaxation and meditation. Chamomile or lavender teas and infusions are also an excellent natural remedy for managing various sleep disorders.

While some persistent sleep disorders do certainly merit investigation by your doctor, chronic insomnia can, more often than not, be cured without the need for medical intervention. Understanding the underlying causes of your insomnia and then making a number of simple changes to your lifestyle or routine can make a dramatic difference to the quality of your sleep. With the added help of one or two natural sleep remedies, you can then soon say farewell to this particular sleep disorder.

Overcoming Jet Lag

Jet lag can be one of the worst, and certainly one of the most frustrating, aspects of long distance travel. Also called desynchronosis (meaning "out of time"), jet lag occurs when travellers pass through multiple time zones, arriving several hours ahead or behind their "home" time.

Travelling across several time zones upsets your body's internal clock, which relies on a variety of environmental cues such as daylight and temperature. The degree of jet lag suffered can be measured in terms of the time change you undergo - the greater the difference in time between your home and your new location, the more disoriented your body clock becomes and the more jet lag you are likely to experience.

One major feature of jet lag is seen in your body's struggle between emotional energy and physical lethargy. While your mind is able to process the change in time and location relatively quickly and can rationally appreciate environmental cues such as daylight (or the lack of it) and time of day, your body will be much slower to respond. Although the time to recover will vary from person to person, most people agree that overcoming jet lag, adjusting to a new time zone and resuming a regular sleep cycle can take two or three days or, in severe cases, an entire a week.

Although not necessarily serious, insomnia caused by jet lag can interfere with mental clarity and efficiency and may have some bearing on your emotional state. Jet lag can also make it difficult for business travellers and tourists alike to maximize the opportunities afforded by their stay. What's more, if insomnia caused by jet lag does not pass, or recurs frequently for more than a couple of weeks, it could be indicative of a more persistent sleep problem.

Natural sleep remedies and approaches can be used to effectively manage jet lag and, by taking a proactive approach, you can significantly decrease or limit the severity and number of symptoms - not to mention shortening the duration of your jet lag.

Establishing a regular and consistent sleep schedule before you even start to make travel plans is one important step towards limiting the effects of jet lag. Simple dietary changes like the reduction or elimination of caffeine and alcohol have also proven effective, and travellers who are accustomed to coping with jet lag often bring along natural sleep remedies like herbal teas and infusions to help induce the body's natural sleep cycles upon arrival at their destination.

You may have heard that sleeping pills and other sleep aids are also effective tools for managing jet lag.

Because sleeping pills suppress the body's immune system in order to generate artificial sleep, as opposed to naturally induced restorative sleep, sleeping pills are not always an effective remedy for jet lag. In fact, sleeping pills can potentially exacerbate the symptoms by delaying the adjustment of your internal body clock.

Breast Enhancement Pill - The Great "Mystery" - Do Breast Enhancement Pills Work?

New breast enhancement pills and breast enlargement pills seem to be popping up one after another on the internet, in magazines and even on television. They are the subject of ongoing controversy and speculation. Do they work? Are they just a pipe dream sold to women wanting larger breasts but not wanting to have surgery, or not being able to afford surgery?

The fact is, there are several very "average" and below average breast enhancement pills being sold today, and I'm sure that many more will continue to pop up since this has become a fairly lucrative market. However, there are only a few pioneers in the breast enhancement pill market who have had staying power over the years, and have proven themselves with a track record of successfully enlarging women's breasts, reshaping and redefining them.

The breast enhancement pill usually consists of herbs and natural botanicals that work together to encourage the breast tissue to grow through the use of powdered phytoestrogens, or plant-derived estrogen compounds that actually help stimulate a woman's mammary glands and trigger further growth of the breast tissue, almost as if puberty were starting all over again and the body's hormones were just beginning to activate the glands responsible for breast growth.

Another type of breast enhancement pill ("non-herbal") uses bovine ovary technology, which is basically animal-derived powdered "estrogenic" compounds that actually go straight to the source of breast development - the pituitary gland, and through supplementation and a few other lifestyle modifications, is very successful in enlarging women's breasts. This breast enhancement pill is the more expensive option, but actually has produced lasting and dramatic breast growth of many of it's customers, and continues to do so after over ten years of successful business practice.

Not to discredit the plant based (phytoestrogen) breast enhancement pill. Many women have had success on the phytoestrogen based breast enhancement pill as well, but must be careful not to select a cheap knockoff that may cause unpleasant side effects such as acne and PMS-like symptoms. There are some excellent choices out their for the herbal breast enhancement pills as well, you just need to know where to get them, how to pick them out, and how to put them to effective use.

It is also important when choosing to go with a plant based breast enhancement pill to choose wisely since they need to have a precise combination of the specific breast enlarging herbs in order to achieve their ultimate purpose - breast enlargement, enhancement, firming and toning.

As long as you go into the buyer's market armed with the knowledge you need, you are on your way to finding the right breast enhancement pill for you, if that's what you so desire.

Vinegar and Weight Loss

The Sour Truth --------------------------

Question: I had a baby 6 months ago and would like to lose
some weight. I know that if you're nursing, you're not
supposed to diet. I have been eating healthy foods high in
nutrients, and I have lost a little weight. Would it be
harmful to the baby if I started taking apple cider vinegar
pills to help with weight loss?

Answer: A few vinegar pills probably won't hurt you or your
baby, but they won't do one bit of good in helping you lose
weight either. This old diet fad dates back to the 1970s,
when a combination of apple cider, kelp, vitamin B-6, and
lecithin was touted as the miracle cure for weight loss. The
rationale for this concoction was that it tricked your
body's metabolism.

According to the claims, lecithin emulsified body fat, B-6
metabolized the loosened fat, kelp supplied iodine to
stimulate the thyroid gland to manufacture more thyroxin to
speed metabolism, and vinegar supplied potassium. Like salad
dressings where oil and vinegar don't mix, this was supposed
to help rid the body of fat.

There Is No Proof --------------------------

There is no scientific basis, or even rational reason, for
any of these claims. For example, a teaspoon of vinegar
contains only five milligrams of potassium, a meager amount
compared to the 400 milligrams in a cup of grapefruit juice.
Swallowing more iodine will jump start a thyroid gland only
if you are deficient in this mineral (you'll know if you are
iodine-deprived because you will have developed a goiter, or
an enlargement of the thyroid gland). When people lost
weight on this regimen it was because they also followed the
accompanying low-calorie diet. Like all the other diet fads,
from starch blockers and collagen products to herbal diet
teas and hydroxycitric acid (HCA), the vinegar pills fit
most or all the criteria of a useless gimmick:

They promise to melt away fat.

They promise fast and effortless weight loss.

They promise weight loss greater than one to two pounds a
week.

They focus on one or a few foods and limit or exclude whole
food groups.

They are based on pills or "secret formulas."

Start Your Weight Loss Program After Breastfeeding --------------------------

Save your money and follow the advice of thousands of people
who have not just lost weight, but maintained the weight
loss. Consume daily a wide variety of nutrient-packed
vegetables, fruits, whole grains, extra-lean meats and
beans, and nonfat milk or yogurt. Watch your portions, and,
most importantly, exercise each day. You also are right
about not dieting while breastfeeding. It took nine months
to gain the weight during your pregnancy. Plan to begin your
weight-loss plan after you've stopped breastfeeding, and
give yourself at least nine months after that to regain your
figure.

Human Milk Bank Donor Helps Premature and Sick Infants and Children

Lisa Fozo (38), a Fair Oaks resident, wanted to breastfeed so much that when her two sons didn't latch on, she pumped her own milk and bottle fed it to them. With her first child, Alex, (6) she had an excess of milk and had to discard it. But when she had her second child, Kyle, (2) Mercy Hospital of Folsom, CA, referred her to Karen Evon, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. Evon is also part owner of Maternal Expressions in Folsom, a maternity and breastfeeding specialty store. Evon advised Lisa to donate her surplus milk to the Mother's Milk Bank in San Jose, California.

The Mother's Milk Bank is the only one of its kind on the West Coast. It ships milk within California, outside of the state, and even occasionally to foreign countries. In the U.S there are six other milk banks: Newark, Delaware; Columbus, Ohio; Denver, Colorado; Fort Worth, Texas; Austin, Texas; and Raleigh, North Carolina. The milk banks are overseen by The Human Milk Banking Association of North America. Milk banks provide human milk for premature and ill infants and children under a doctor's prescription.

Lisa donated 250 ounces to the Mother's Milk Bank after having Kyle. "I wish I had known with my first child so I could have helped more babies, "says Lisa. Evon says, "Mothers who have a surplus of milk may have a larger storage capacity which usually has nothing to do with breast size." Lisa produced 16 ounces of milk in three hours. And in the morning, she could pump 32 ounces in 15 minutes.

Lisa says that her husband Ed was the one who first encouraged her to nurse. He saw how healthy his sister-in-law's children were on human milk, so when Lisa became pregnant, he said "I hope you'll breastfeed."

That's easy to say, but Ed wasn't a passive observer. He bottle fed his infants the breast milk on weekends while Lisa pumped the milk. He also attended breastfeeding classes with her.

But before Lisa could donate the milk, she had to undergo a screening process: Prospective milk donors must meet certain criteria before donating milk. They must be lactating and submit to tests for Hepatitis B and C, Syphilis, HIV 1 and 2, human T cell lymphotropic virus (HTLV) 1 and 2, and Ruebella titer. All viral and bacterial studies must be negative, and a history of systemic diseases such as leprosy and cancer will disqualify prospective donors.

Donors may not smoke, consume alcohol, or take medications or herbal supplements at the time of donation, with the exception of drugs, such as insulin, Syn-Thyroid, and progestin-only birth control pills or injections. After donors pass the health evaluation, they will learn how to express milk with a pump, label glass bottles, freeze the milk and store it in the freezer.

Use Fresh Herbs In Your Cooking

Many common herbs that you might use in cooking are well known for there healing properties. Using them in cooking is a great way to incorporate the healing attributes of natural herbs with your meals. Chances are you probably already use some herbs in your cooking like basil and thyme but experimenting with even more herbs can add taste to your dishes while improving health.

Cooking with fresh herbs is just as easy as using dried herbs. Just chop up a bit of the herb and season to taste. You will need to use about twice as much of the fresh herb than the dried. You may want to wait until the last 20 minutes of cooking to add the herb so the taste stays crisp. Herbs can be used to flavor any foods. Commonly used in pasta sauces, herbs can also be added to soups, oils, eggs and even desserts and drinks.

You can grow your own herbs in the garden on window sill and have fresh herbs all the time. Some grocery stores have fresh herbs right in the produce section and, of course, you can always find dried herbs in the baking section. If you grow your own herbs, you can freeze them or dry them yourself in a dehydrator to have for future use.

Here's some food and herb combinations that I like to use when cooking with fresh herbs:

• Eggs with dill

• Pesto with basil

• Mint in any tea or punch

• Parsley with salad

• Rosemary and Thyme on oven roasted potatoes

• Basil and sage added to flavor butter

If you have a special condition or illness that might be treated with herbs, then feel free to incorporate the herbs into your usual cooking. Start by adding a small amount of the herb(s) and taste - add more to suit. This is a great way to realize the healthy benefit of herbs without having to remember to take pills.

Weight Loss Methods

On the market at any given time, there are hundreds of weight loss methods. You will no doubt see hundreds of commercials in your time for a weight loss drug, a weight loss plan, or an exercise machine. They all tell you that they are the best. They will provide for you the best solution for losing weight. Some may say that they will guarantee the weight loss if you follow their so called simple steps. The truth of the matter is that you need to actively work for the weight loss to be effective. Here, we will talk about different methods of weight loss that you can use to help you gain control of your life.

Realize that anyone that needs to lose weight has to fight for it. Sure, it might be easier for some to lose than others, but the bottom line is that there is no easy weight loss solution out there. No magic pill exists to magically melt away the pounds. It all comes from hard work, eating right, and determination. But, let us explore the different methods of getting the weight off! From the simplest to the most difficult, there are really hundreds of ways you can effectively lose weight. Just remember determination is the key to success!

First of all, it just makes sense to talk about the most effective and longest lasting diet ever. You will never believe this but this is such a powerful diet that when most people follow it, they lose weight! Unfortunately, it is the most difficult to do as well. Eating a balanced diet and getting regular, vigorous exercise is the diet in question here. Yes, we all know that you don't want to give up your favorite foods or want to exercise hard and heavy. But, again, this really is the most beneficial diet out there for weight loss. You need to maintain a healthy diet full of vegetables, fruits and the right portions of meats, grains, and dairy. You will need to exercise daily, developing strong muscles and work off that unwanted fat.

So, like many people you didn't stop reading there. You do not want to do that diet because you may have tried and found it too hard. You may have found that you just didn't have time. Whatever you excuse it, you are here and reading on to search for an easier solution.

Many people have tried the limitation diets like South Beach, Atkins, no fat, or no protein. There are hundreds of fad diets out there. Do they work? Maybe, but you need to realize that by giving up an entire food group can do damage to your body later on in life as well. High fat diets can contribute to heart disease and high blood pressure. Low fat diets can cause their own set of problems because your body needs a healthy amount of fat. In order for these diets to work, you will have to give up the "bad" food for the course of your life. This is difficult, but like we said, all weight loss is!

Exercise can be an excellent way to loose weight. You can exercise away the pounds if you like. Things like jogging, swimming, aerobics, Pilates, and all sorts of other exercise routines can in fact help you to lose weight. In many of these situations, you will have to work long and hard at it. Determination, remember? But, what you are doing is building up the muscle mass in your body. Muscles will burn fat twice as fast as weaker muscles. That means that you will burn fat faster when your body is in shape through exercising. It is important to stress that you will need to insure that you are seen by a doctor prior to starting a hard core exercise plan. Also, remember that you can be thin through exercise, but if you are eating the wrong foods, you are likely to have high cholesterol, high blood pressure or many other things.

Herbal remedies are another way to lose weight effectively. Herbal remedies are available in all sorts of combinations. Most of them are healthy and definitely non toxic. They work because they are all natural products like the foods we eat, that our bodies already know how to digest and use. That means they can be twice as effective, in some cases, as medications. But, just like eating a meal that gives you indigestion, while you may be affected, the friend may not. Herbal remedies can be quite similar meaning they are not a for sure thing.

There are, of course, diet pills that do work. Like herbal remedies, they can help speed up metabolism or help to tell you to stop eating. They can trick the mind into thinking you are full. Many of these diet pills are herbal remedies and do work on and off for many people. While there is no proof that they will work in your situation, they may just be what you need in the end.

And, we are back to the good old eating right and getting the exercise you need diet. Weight loss is a lifelong battle for many people, contributing to their death, in some cases. But, by simply eating right and getting the daily dose of exercise that many of us do not get, we can greatly reduce the amount of bad the weight does to us. Heart disease, organ failure, and many more things can be caused in part or fully from being overweight. Whatever method you decide to use as your method to lose weight do so and, remember that it will take a lot of determination and a whole lot of patience to get where you are going. You will lose the weight. You will be proud to look in the mirror, not because you look good, but because you accomplish a huge goal, a difficult goal, and a lifetime goal of losing weight! Remember to talk to your doctor about you weight loss method as well.

Natural Breast Enhancement

Having nicely shaped, rounded breasts can make a woman feel sexier and confident, there is no doubt about that. However, with surgical breast enlargement procedures (such as breast augmentation and breast lifts) having a number of alarming side effects, more and more women are turning towards natural breast enhancement.

Post-operative effects of surgical breast augmentation can include a hardening of the breasts; infection; and (sometimes permanent) loss of sensation in the nipples. Implants may also leak or break, causing a change in the shape and feel of the breasts and a great deal of discomfort.
And while the majority of the typical breast augmentation related problems can be treated, it often involves removing the implant (after waiting for any infection to clear) and replacing it with another meaning yet more invasive surgery.

There are many non surgical products and methods that claim to enlarge, enhance and lift your breasts such as creams; special bras; using weights and even, hypnosis.

However, more and more women are now turning to breast enlargement pills as a way of enlarging and enhancing their breasts. Breast enlargement pills can help women to enhance their breasts and gain breast size without resorting to synthetic hormones and risky, invasive surgery.

Most of these pills are herbal and made of natural products. These natural products can also have other benefits. Some claim that they can actually help with other health issues, such as protecting against breast cancer or stopping hot flushes, which is a real bonus!

However, when looking for natural breast enhancement, you should still research all the options thoroughly. For example, the internet has hundreds upon hundreds of websites claiming to sell breast enhancement programmes. Many of them are a waste of money and sell products which will never work, so research the different products, look at what the pills contain and the type of development work that has gone in to the products by the manufacturer, then make a decision from there.

Natural breast enhancement is a way to enhance your breasts with none of the risks involved with surgical procedures, but as with all products, needs careful research first.

Breast Augmentation Cost - What are the Comparison Costs Between Surgery and No Surgery?

If you feel that having bigger breasts will make you feel more confident and sexy, then no doubt you would have considered breast augmentation. However, while this is a popular surgical procedure, how much exactly will breast augmentation cost?

In the UK, at the time of writing (Mar 2005) prices for the cost of cosmetic surgery to the breasts ranges from £3,000 upwards. When you are making enquiries as to see what breast augmentation costs will be at the various breast augmentation clinics, check to see what the costs actually cover. For example, do they include accommodation, food, dressings, follow up visits? etc.

And, as while the majority of the typical breast augmentation procedures do go smoothly, there could be problems which, although they can be treated, may involve removing the implant.

Therefore, don’t forget to see if any of the typical post-operative problems (which include hardening of the breasts; loss of sensation in the nipples; and infection which could mean a replacement implant in some cases) will be treated free of charge. If not, what will the costs be?

If you are concerned about undergoing a surgical procedure, then there are many non surgical alternatives. These include creams, wearing special bras; using weights and even hypnosis.

Natural breast enlargement and enhancement methods are now used by many women as a way of enlarging and enhancing their breasts, without surgical intervention.

Non surgical prices for these natural methods vary, from £20 for a bust firming cream to around £50 for natural and herbal tablets and pills. These herbal and/or natural breast enlargement pills claim to help women to gain breast size and enhance their breasts - without needing to resort to synthetic hormones and risky surgical procedures.

As with all products and procedures, when looking for natural breast enhancement pills and lotions (non surgical prices for breast enhancement) etc or breast augmentation costs, then research all your options thoroughly.

That way you can make an educated decision when you choose either go down the surgical or non surgical route to enhance and/or enlarge your breasts – and at the best price.

FTC Names Dirty Dozen Email Scams

The Federal Trade Commission is responsible for issuing and enforcing rules for consumer issues on the Internet. As part of this process, the FTC has published a list of the 12 scams you are most likely to receive as email.

The Dirty Dozen Scams

The "dirty dozen" are:

1. Business opportunities

These business opportunities make it sound easy to start a business that will bring lots of income without much work or cash outlay. The solicitations trumpet unbelievable earnings claims $1,000 a day or more without doing any work. Many business opportunity solicitations claim to offer a way to make money in an Internet-related business. Short on details but long on promises, these messages usually offer a telephone number to call for more information. In many cases, you'll be told to leave your name and telephone number so that a salesperson can call you back with the sales pitch.

The scam: Many of these are illegal pyramid schemes masquerading as legitimate opportunities to earn money.

2. Bulk email

Bulk email solicitations offer to sell you lists of email addresses, by the millions, to which you can send your own bulk solicitations. Some offer software that automates the sending of email messages to thousands or millions of recipients. Others offer the service of sending bulk email solicitations on your behalf. Some of these offers say, or imply, that you can make a lot of money using this marketing method.

The problem: Sending bulk email violates the terms of service of most Internet service providers. If you use one of the automated email programs, your ISP may shut you down. In addition, inserting a false return address into your solicitations, as some of the automated programs allow you to do, may land you in legal hot water with the owner of the address's domain name. There are also very strict rules, known as the CAN-SPAM Act, regulating bulk email marketing.

3. Chain letters

You're asked to send a small amount of money ($5 to $20) to each of four or five names on a list, replace one of the names on the list with your own, and then forward the revised message via bulk email. The letter may claim that the scheme is legal, that it's been reviewed or approved by the government; or it may refer to sections of U.S. law that legitimize the scheme.

The scam: Chain letters are almost always illegal and nearly all of the people who participate lose their money. The fact that a "product" such as a report on how to make money fast may be changing hands in the transaction does not change the legality of these schemes.

4. Work-at-home schemes

Envelope-stuffing solicitations promise steady income for minimal labor-for example, you'll earn $2 each time you fold a brochure and seal it in an envelope. Craft assembly work schemes often require an investment of hundreds of dollars in equipment or supplies, and many hours of your time producing goods for a company that has promised to buy them.

The scam: You'll pay a small fee to get started in the envelope-stuffing business. Then, you'll learn that the email sender never had real employment to offer. Instead, you'll get instructions on how to send the same envelope-stuffing ad on your own. If you earn any money, it will be from others who fall for the scheme you're perpetuating.

5. Health and diet scams

Pills that let you lose weight without exercising or changing your diet, herbal formulas that liquefy your fat cells so that they are absorbed by your body, and cures for impotence and hair loss are among the scams flooding email boxes.

The scam: These gimmicks don't work. The fact is that successful weight loss requires a reduction in calories and an increase in physical activity. Beware of case histories from "cured" consumers claiming amazing results and testimonials from "famous" medical experts you've never heard of.

6. Effortless income

The trendiest get-rich-quick schemes offer unlimited profits exchanging money on world currency markets; newsletters describing a variety of easy-money opportunities; the perfect sales letter; and the secret to making $4,000 in one day.

The scam: If these systems worked, wouldn't everyone be using them? The thought of easy money may be appealing, but success generally requires hard work.

7. Free goods

Some email messages offer valuable goods-for example, computers, other electronic items, and long-distance phone cards-for free. You're asked to pay a fee to join a club, then told that to earn the offered goods, you have to bring in a certain number of participants. You're paying for the right to earn income by recruiting other participants, but your payoff is in goods, not money.

The scam: Most of these messages are covering up pyramid schemes, operations that inevitably collapse. The payoff goes to the promoters and little or none to you.

8. Investment opportunities

Investment schemes promise outrageously high rates of return with no risk. Many are Ponzi schemes, in which early investors are paid off with money contributed by later investors. This makes the early investors believe that the system actually works, and encourages them to invest even more.

The scam: Ponzi schemes eventually collapse because there isn't enough money coming in to continue simulating earnings. Other schemes are a good investment for the promoters, but no for participants.

9. Cable descrambler kits

For a small sum of money, you can buy a kit to assemble a cable descrambler that supposedly allows you to receive cable television transmissions without paying any subscription fee.

The scam: The device that you build probably won't work. Most of the cable TV systems in the U.S. use technology that these devices can't crack. What's more, even if it worked, stealing service from a cable television company is illegal.

10. Guaranteed loans or credit, on easy terms

Some email messages offer home-equity loans that don't require equity in your home. Usually, these are said to be offered by offshore banks. Sometimes they are combined with pyramid schemes, which offer you an opportunity to make money by attracting new participants to the scheme.

The scams: The home equity loans turn out to be useless lists of lenders who will turn you down. The promised credit cards never come through, and the pyramid schemes always collapse.

11. Credit repair

Credit repair scams offer to erase accurate negative information from your credit file so you can qualify for a credit card, auto loan, home mortgage, or a job.

The scam: The scam artists who promote these services can't deliver. Only time, a deliberate effort, and a personal debt repayment plan will improve your credit. The companies that advertise credit repair services appeal to consumers with poor credit histories. Not only can't they provide you with a clean credit record, but they also may be encouraging you to violate federal law. If you follow their advice by lying on a loan or credit application, misrepresenting your Social Security number, or getting an Employer Identification Number under false pretenses, you will be committing fraud.

12. Vacation prize promotions

Electronic certificates congratulating you on "winning" a fabulous vacation for a very attractive price are among the scams arriving in your email. Some say you have been "specially selected" for this opportunity.

The scam: Most unsolicited commercial email goes to thousands or millions of recipients at a time. Often, the cruise ship you're booked on may look more like a tug boat. The hotel accommodations likely are shabby, and you may be required to pay more for an upgrade. Scheduling the vacation at the time you want it also may require an additional fee.

In Closing

Don’t check your common sense at the door simply because you are surfing the web. If it seems to good to be true, it is. Don’t fall victim to these scams.

Sleeping Pills - An Effective Alternative

Overcoming insomnia is a journey - and, as you may have discovered, it can also be a matter of trial and response. Undertaken systematically overcoming insomnia and getting a good night's sleep is an ultimately rewarding process. But, if you've already made basic changes to your diet and sleep routine, and you've tried specific techniques for reducing stress and improving the quality of your sleep, you may be tempted to turn to artificial sleep aids like sleeping pills.

While sleeping pills may promise a miracle cure for insomnia, the inherent risks of taking sleeping pills to combat insomnia are myriad. Regardless of whether you opt for short-term sleeping pills or a longer course, barbiturates, benzodiazepines and non-benzodiazepines alike all carry similar risks - namely the potential for over-use or, in the worst cases, the possibility of addiction.

Because sleeping pills serve to depress your body's nervous system in order to create an artificial “sleep”, they do not facilitate the essential healing and restorative cycles and functions normally undertaken by your body during sleep. That's why taking sleeping pills can often leave you feeling drowsy or inadequately rested in the morning.

Instead of turning to sleeping pills to overcome insomnia, try using one of the numerous natural and time-tested remedies that are widely available. Often referred to as a “natural sleeping pill”, melatonin offers one viable sleep-enhancing option.

Melatonin is the hormone naturally produced by your body to induce sleep, and many people have successfully restored their own productive sleep patterns by using melatonin to help stimulate the body's own urge to sleep. Melatonin can be an effective natural alternative to sleeping pills, but should nonetheless be used with caution as it is not yet regulated by any government body.

Herbal remedies are another excellent alternative to sleeping pills and also to melatonin. Consumed in the form of herbal teas and supplements, or even as aromatherapy, herbs like valerian root and chamomile have been lauded as effective sleep-enhancers for centuries. Unlike melatonin or sleeping pills, chamomile does not have to be consumed over a period of time before it becomes effective. Chamomile tea can be used on an as-needed basis and many people have used its sleep-enhancing qualities to successfully combat bouts of insomnia.

Slightly stronger than chamomile and usually taken in pill form, valerian root is another well-known herbal sedative recognized for its ability to overcome insomnia and promote quality sleep. Valerian's sleep-inducing properties are so effective that it is actually medically recognized as the herbal equivalent of Valium™. Indeed, it is said that the name Valium™ was derived from Valerian, although Valium™ itself is not otherwise connected with valerian in any way.

As with all adjustments to your sleep cycle or sleep routine, you should choose one natural sleep remedy and use it consistently for two weeks before making any other changes – this gives your body time to incorporate and respond to the sleep enhancing benefits of the remedy you have chosen.

Diet Pills And Safe Weight Loss: A Quick Guide To Diet Pills

Serious diet pills are intended for people who are overweight to the point of being considered obese. Therefore, they are known as anti-obesity drugs; and should not be used for quick, temporary weight loss.

Diet medications and supplements will not simply "melt" away all your unwanted fat and permanently solve any weight problem you might have. Most weight loss trials show that diet pills offer (at best) short term support.

You should use diet pills in combination with a simple plan for weight loss through regular exercise and an improved diet. Diet pills such as Phentermine provide appetite suppression, helping you focus energy on enjoying healthy foods rather than feeling starved of junk food.

Be careful of over the counter diet pills and other weight loss products. They are not regulated or controlled, and have been shown to contain ingredients that provide little or no benefits. Some have even been taken off the market because they pose a threat to your health.

Use caution with "herbal" and "natural" diet pills. These types of weight loss pills are not guaranteed to be more healthy or efficient just because they are made with supposedly natural ingredients. Many herbal ingredients of diet pills have been connected with many health problems such as heart failure.

Avoid diet pills advertised as "fat burning." Cardiovascular exercise is the best method for safely and directly increasing your metabolism; which will in turn naturally burn away fat!

Thinking about buying diet pills? You should always have a talk with your doctor before using any new medication. Discuss all your options for weight loss, and make sure to ask about all the known health risks and side effects.

When using any diet pill, you must follow the manufacturer's instructions, as well as your doctor's. This is for your own safety, as with any medication.

Don't continue using diet pills for longer than 4-6 weeks without permission from your doctor. You should also talk to your doctor about when to stop.

Potential Benefits of Diet Pills

When considering short term use, the benefits of weight loss may include improving overall health and lowering the number of health risks one faces when overweight. Clinical studies have shown that some diet pills decrease blood pressure & cholesterol, fats (triglycerides) and lower help your body use blood sugar more efficiently (lowering insulin resistance) with short term use. However, no studies have yet been performed, and they are necessary in determining whether weight loss with long term use of diet pills will improve overall health.

Natural Breast Enlargement - Helpful Tips for Getting Dramatic Results

Natural breast enlargement is an exciting phenomena that many women wanting larger breasts are turning to as alternatives to breast augmentation surgery. The first rule for greater success if you want to attain real and noticeable breast enlargement is to choose the right product. There are a slew of cheap, watered down herbal formulas out there right now that are a disappointing failure to most of their users. Make sure you know the formula you take has at least a resonable success rate.

There is no one natural breast enlargement formula that works on all women. Think of it as a medication. Not all medications have the same effects on all people, hence the wide variety of brands and formulas available. Every person's body is different, and their body will respond differently to herbs and natural breast enalargement formulas, and take different amounts of time to respond positively.

Second, a good rule of thumb is to avoid any type of caffeine or stimulant - ESPECIALLY any type of fat burners or diet pills, as these will always decrease breast size, since the first place we usually lose weight is in the breasts. Same goes for carbonated beverages. Avoiding carbonation can enhance the effects of a natural breast enlargement regimen by not interfering with it's digestion and absorption.

Third, and perhaps most important, moderate to light breast massage. Pair this with a good external breast enlarging and/or enhancing formula like a cream or serum, and this really helps to jump start and encourage further breast tissue expansion. Many of these external natural breast enlargement formulas contain caffeine. This is OK! You only need to be concerned with avoiding drinking or eating caffeine. It will not affect any results when massaged into the skin.

Next, try to maintain a healthy, balanced diet while taking a natural breast enlargement pill. This helps to balance the hormones naturally, and will help promote breast growth by intensifying the effects of the breast enlargement formula. Hormonal imbalance is one of the primary reasons breast pills may not work as effectively on some women, so don't take any chances, and eat balanced meals with plenty of protein if this is not how you are already eating.

Also, you may want to supplement your diet with 1000 mg of vitamin C per day. Vitamin C actually helps to further absorption and utilization of natural breast enlargement preparations (of an herbal nature).

Lastly, try to keep your breasts as free from constraints (go bra-less) whenever possible. As with the light to moderate massage, this actually helps the breasts natural ability to expand in size by encouraging tissue growth free of constraining contraptions which can act as an inhibitor to healthy cell reproduction.

It is very important to take a natural breast enlargement product exactly as the creator of the product prescribes. They know their product the best, and they've formulated it to work a specific way, so any diet supplementation, times of day to take it, or lifestyle modifications they suggest should be adhered to as closely as possible to assure you are doing everything possible to make the product work for you.

The Breast Enlargement Pill

The breast enlargement pill. It seems to be somewhat of a buzz word, if not still a little taboo to talk about, since there are still so many skeptics and naysayers who refuse to believe that any pill can enlarge a person's breasts. They are the ones that say only surgery can enlarge the female (or male) breast. While this degree of skepticism is understandable, it quite simply is not true.

There are many women out there who have successfully enlarged their breasts anywhere from one half to one and two cup sizes (and even more in rare cases), by utilizing a breast enlargement pill. Take Chinese women for example. According to the American Cancer Society, China has the best breast health record worldwide. China's traditional medicine does not promote the use of mammograms or synthetic (man made) hormones such as Hormone Replacement Therapy for women lacking estrogen balance in their body as we do.

Chinese women actually have numerous methods for breast enlargement and breast beauty, and it is not such a taboo subject as it is here in the U.S. Special herbal teas help increase circulation to enhance breast firmness. Herbal patches are used as well as therapeutic breast massage, acupuncture and magnet therapy for healthy breast development and maintenance.

You can actually find several Chinese beauty shops that offer breast beautification and enlargement services such as breast stimulator machines and herbal creams and tinctures (formulas) to enhance bust size. It is clear that Chinese women are more open about desiring beautiful breasts and/or enlarging their size or enhancing their shape, but they are also much more willing and open to employ natural methods than have surgery, since traditional Chinese medicine has employed the use of herbal remedies and special natural methods of healing.

Breast enlargement pills can take two forms. One is the more common of the two, and that is the herbal breast enlargement pill. Herbal pills actually rely on phytoestrogens, or plant derived estrogens, to facilitate stimulation of the mammary glands and produce a swelling of the breast tissue. This method works for many women, but there are some guidelines to follow, and they do not always work on every person, since it depends on the person's body, metabolism, and general interaction with the phytonutrients in the pill.

The second type of breast enlargement pill is generally classified as "non herbal" in nature, and may employ a variety of methods to enlarge the breast by stimulating the gland responsible for breast development more directly, or by stimulating healthy cell regeneration. These types of pills may be animal or plant based, depending on what type you choose.

The consensus seems to be that women generally respond to the non herbal breast enlargement pills better than herbal, although some women may actually respond to a comprehensive blend of herbs better than a non-herbal preparation. Again, this really depends on the individual's body type and body chemistry, their daily diet, and a host of other lifestyle habits and biological differences.

Whatever method you choose, whether is be surgery or not, breast enlargement pills can really be an excellent surgery-free option to women desiring breast augmentation. Not only that, it can help "put some extra padding" on women who currently do have implants, to create a more natural look, feel and contour.

What's All The Fuss About Hair Growth Products?

If you are losing your hair and you are afraid that you will go bald, there are many different kinds of hair growth products on the market. When choosing the hair growth products you need, one thing that you should look at it is the product’s ability to accelerate hair growth and rejuvenate dead hair follicles. Most men and women like to choose products made of herbs because they don’t like using the products that contain chemicals that could cause harmful side effects.

You have to read the information about the hair growth products that are available. Any product that claims to inhibit hair loss is making invalid claims. There are no legitimate products on the market with the ability to do this. One remarkable product is a hair growth pill that you can get without a doctor’s prescription, but you should check with the doctor before you take it. Even though many of these pills are herbal, there are still side effects. Women should avoid using this hair growth product because it does cause hair growth all over the body- not just on the head.

If you don’t want to visit your doctor for a prescription for a hair loss product, you should check the pharmacy for many generic hair growth products or check online. When you check on line for a listing of these hair growth products you can read about the research and clinical studies that prove they work. You just have to remember that whether you use a shampoo, a topical solution or a hair growth pill that what works for one person may not work for you. Everyone is different and you should search for the causes of the hair loss first.

Some hair growth products are topical treatments rather than a hair growth pill. To use this type of product you have to apply it to the scalp when you wash your hair. You apply it directly to the scalp twice a day. Most users do this in the morning and then before they go to bed each night. You have to be very careful that you don’t get it on the skin of any other part of the body and doctors tell you to avoid this hair growth product is you are pregnant or nursing. The active ingredient in this product is the same one used in medications that lower high blood pressure, so it is important to make sure your doctor checks out your medical history before prescribing this hair growth product.

Have you ever heard the saying “Bald is beautiful”. If you are experiencing hair loss why not avoid hair growth products and let nature take its course.

Hair growth products do work, but not for everybody.

Building Better Bones

"It is a bone-deep change you are going into, my beloved," counsels Grandmother Growth. "You must open to your very marrow for this transformation. No cell is to remain untouched. You are to open more than you ever dreamed you could open, more than you have opened in birth or in passion. You open now to the breath of mortality as it plays the bone flute of your being. What can you do but dance to the haunting melody, develop a passion for an elegant posture and a long stride?

"Ah, yes," Grandmother Growth smiles rather wantonly. "It would do you well to develop a taste for dark greens tarted with vinegar and mated with garlic. These things will build strong flexible bones to support you as you become Crone."

Did you know that your bones are always changing? Every day of your life, some bone cells die and some new bone cells are created. From birth until your early 30s, you can easily make lots of bone cells. So long as your diet supplies the necessary nutrients, you not only replace bone cells that die, you have extras left over to lengthen and strengthen your bones.

Past the age of 35, new bone cells are more difficult to make. Sometimes there is a shortfall: more bone cells die than you can replace. In the orthodox view, this is the beginning of osteoporosis, the disease of low bone mass. By the age of forty, many American women have begun to lose bone mass; by the age of fifty, most are told they must take hormones or drugs to prevent further loss and avoid osteoporosis, hip fracture, and death.

Women who exercise regularly and eat calcium-rich foods enter their menopausal years with better bone mass than women who sit a lot and consume calcium-leaching foods (including soy "milk," tofu, coffee, soda pop, alcohol, white flour products, processed meats, nutritional yeast, and bran). But no matter how good your lifestyle choices, bone mass usually decreases during the menopausal years.

For unknown reasons, menopausal bones slow down production of new cells and seem to ignore the presence of calcium. This "bone-pause" is generally short-lived, occurring off and on for five to seven years. I noticed it in scattered episodes of falling hair, breaking fingernails, and the same "growing pains" I experienced during puberty.

I did not see it in a bone scan, because I didn't have one.

The idea behind bone scans is a good one: find women who are at risk of broken bones, alert them to the danger, and help them engage in preventative strategies. There's only one problem: bone scans don't find women who are at risk of broken bones, they find women who have low bone density.

I would like to help you let go of the idea that osteoporosis is important. In the Wise Woman Tradition, we focus on the patient, not the problem. In the Wise Woman tradition, there are no diseases and no cures for diseases. When we focus on a disease, like osteoporosis, we cannot see the whole woman. The more we focus on one disease, even its prevention, the less likely we are to nourish wholeness and health.

Focusing on osteoporosis, defining it as a disease, using drugs to counter it, we lose sight of the fact that postmenopausal bone mass is a better indicator of breast cancer risk than broken bone risk. The twenty-five percent of postmenopausal women with the highest bone mass are two-and-a-half to four times more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer than those with the lowest bone mass. And that hormones which maintain bone mass also adversely affect breast cancer risk. Women who take estrogen replacement (often given to prevent osteoporosis), even for as little as five years, increase their risk of breast cancer by twenty percent; if they take hormone replacement, the risk increases by forty percent.

Focusing on bone mass, we lose sight of the fact that a strong correlation between bone density and bone breakage has not been established, according to Susan Brown, director of the Osteoporosis Information Clearing House, and many others. We lose sight of the fact that women who faithfully take estrogen or hormone replacement still experience bone changes and suffer spinal crush fractures.

Bone-pause passes and the bones do rebuild themselves, especially when supported by nourishing herbs, which are exceptional sources of bone-building minerals and better at preventing bone breaks than supplements. The minerals in green plants seem to be ideal for keeping bones healthy. Dr. Campbell, Professor of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, has done extensive research in rural China where the lowest known fracture rates for midlife and older women were found. He says, "The closer people get to a diet based on plant foods and leafy vegetables, the lower the rates of many diseases, including osteoporosis." Women who consume lots of calcium-rich plants and exercise moderately build strong flexible bones. Women who rely on hormones build bones that are massive, but rigid.

Hormone replacement regimes do not increase bone cell creation; they slow (or suppress) bone cell killers (osteoclasts). There is a rebound effect; bone loss jumps when the hormones are stopped. Women who take hormones for five years or more are as much as four times more likely to break a bone in the year after they stop than a woman of the same age who never took hormones. Women who build better bones with green allies and exercise nourish the bone cell creator cells (osteoblasts).

Hormone or estrogen replacement, taken as menopause begins and continued for the rest of your life, is said to reduce post-menopausal fracture rates by 40-60 percent. Frequent walks (you don't even need to sweat) and a diet high in calcium-rich green allies (at least 1500 mg daily) have been shown to reduce post-menopausal fractures by 50 percent. The first is expensive and dangerous. The second, inexpensive and health promoting. It's easy to see why more than eighty percent of American women just "say no" to hormones. It is never too late to build better bones, and it is never too soon. Your best insurance for a fracture-free, strong-boned cronehood is to build better bones before menopause. The more exercise and calcium-rich green allies you get in your younger years, the less you'll have to worry about as you age.

"A woman has lost half of all the spongy bone (spine, wrist) she'll ever lose by the age of 50, but very little of the dense (hip, hand, forearm) bone. Attention to bone formation at every stage of life is vital; there is no time when you are too old to create healthy new bone." - American MD

CALCIUM

"Osteoporosis is much less common in countries that consume the least calcium. That is an undisputed fact." -T. C. Campbell, PhD. Nutritional Biochemistry

Step 1: Collect Information

Calcium is, without a doubt, the most important mineral in your body. In fact, calcium makes up more than half of the total mineral content of your body. Calcium is crucial to the regular beating of your heart, your metabolism, the functioning of your muscles, the flow of impulses along your nerves, the regulation of your cellular membranes, the strength of your bones, the health of your teeth and gums, and your vital blood-clotting mechanisms. Calcium is so critical to your life that you have a gland (the parathyroid) that does little else than monitor blood levels of calcium and secrete hormones to ensure optimum levels of calcium at all times.

When you consume more calcium than you use, you are in a positive calcium balance: extra usable calcium is stored in the bones and you gain bone mass (insoluble or unusable calcium may be excreted, or stored in soft tissue, or deposited in the joints). When you consume less calcium than you use, you are in a negative calcium balance: the parathyroid produces a hormone that releases calcium stores from the bones, and you lose bone mass.

To ensure a positive calcium balance and create strong, flexible bones for your menopausal journey, take care to:

    * Eat three or more calcium-rich foods daily.
    * Avoid calcium antagonists.
    * Use synergistic foods to magnify the effectiveness of calcium.
    * Avoid calcium supplements.

Step 2: Engage the Energy

    * The homeopathic tissue salt Silica is said to improve bone health.
    * What does it mean to you to support yourself? To be supported? To stand on your own? To have a backbone in your life?

Step 3: Nourish & Tonify

    * What do we need to make strong flexible bones? Like all tissues, bones need protein. They need minerals (not just calcium, but also potassium, manganese, magnesium, silica, iron, zinc, selenium, boron, phosphorus, sulphur, chromium, and dozens of others). And in order to use those minerals, high-quality fats, including oil-soluble vitamin D.
    * Many menopausal women I meet believe that protein is bad for their bones. Not so. Researchers at Utah State University, looking at the diets of 32,000 postmenopausal women, found that women who ate the least protein were the most likely to fracture a hip; and that eating extra protein sped the healing of hip fractures.
    * Acids created by protein digestion are buffered by calcium. Traditional diets combine calcium- and protein-rich foods (e.g. seaweed with tofu, tortillas made from corn ground on limestone with beans, and melted cheese on a hamburger). Herbs such as seaweed, stinging nettle, oatstraw, red clover, dandelion, and comfrey leaf are rich in protein and provide plenty of calcium too. Foods such as tahini, sardines, canned salmon, yogurt, cheese, oatmeal, and goats' milk offer us protein, generous amounts of calcium, and the healthy fats our bones need. If you crave more protein during menopause, follow that craving. CAUTION: Unfermented soy (e.g., tofu) is especially detrimental to bone health being protein-rich, naturally deficient in calcium, and a calcium antagonist to boot.
    * Bones need lots of minerals not just calcium, which is brittle and inflexible. (Think of chalk, calcium carbonate, and how easily it breaks.) Avoid calcium supplements. Focus on getting generous amounts of calcium from herbs and foods and you will automatically get the multitude of minerals you need for flexible bones.
    * Because minerals are bulky, and do not compact, we must consume generous amounts to make a difference in our health. Taking mineral-rich herbs in capsule or tincture form won't do much for your bones. (One cup of nettle tincture contains the same amount of calcium - 300 mg - as one cup of nettle infusion. Many women drink two or more cups of infusion a day; no one consumes a cup of tincture a day!) Neither will eating raw foods. I frequently come across the idea that cooking robs food of nutrition. Nothing could be further from the truth. Cooking maximizes the minerals available to your bones. Kale cooked for an hour delivers far more calcium than lightly steamed kale. Minerals are rock-like, and to extract them, we need heat, time, and generous quantities of plant material.
    * Green sources of calcium are the best. Nourishing herbs and garden weeds are far richer in minerals than ordinary greens, which are already exceptional sources of nutrients.
    * But calcium from green sources alone is not enough. We need calcium from white sources as well. Add a quart of yogurt a week to your diet if you want really healthy bones. Because the milk has been changed by Lactobacillus organisms, its calcium, other minerals, proteins, and sugars (no lactose) are more easily digested. This carries over, enhancing calcium and mineral absorption from other foods, too. (I have known several vegans who increased their very low bone density by as much as 6 percent in one year by eating yogurt.) Organic raw milk cheeses are another superb white source.
    * Horsetail herb (Equisetum arvense) works like a charm for those premenopausal women who have periodontal bone loss or difficulty with fracture healing. Taken as tea, once or twice a day, young spring-gathered horsetail dramatically strengthens bones and promotes rapid mending of breaks. CAUTION: Mature horsetail contains substances which may irritate the kidneys.

Step 4: Stimulate/Sedate

    * Beware of calcium antagonists. Certain foods interfere with calcium utilization. For better bones avoid consistent use of:
o Greens rich in oxalic acid, including chard (silver beet), beet greens, spinach, rhubarb.
o Unfermented soy products, including tofu, soy beverages, soy burgers.
o Phosphorus-rich foods, including carbonated drinks, white flour products, and many processed foods. (Teenagers who drink sodas instead of milk are four times more likely to break a bone.)
o Foods that produce acids requiring a calcium buffer when excreted in the urine, including coffee, white sugar, tobacco, alcohol, nutritional yeast, salt.
o Fluoride in water or toothpaste.
o Fiber pills, bran taken alone, bulk-producing laxatives.
o Steroid medications, including corticosteroids such as prednisone and asthma inhalers. (Daily use reduces spinal bone mass by as much as ten percent a year.)
o Restricted calorie diets. Women who weigh the least have the greatest loss of bone during menopause and "neither calcium supplements, vitamin D supplements, nor estrogen" slow the loss. Among 236 premenopausal women, all of whom consumed similar amounts of calcium, those who lost weight by reducing calories lost twice as much bone mass as women who maintained their weight.

    * Although chocolate contains oxalic acid, the levels are so low as to have only a negligible effect on calcium metabolism. An ounce/3000 mg of chocolate binds 15-20 mg of calcium; an ounce of cooked spinach, 100-125 mg calcium. Bittersweet (dark) chocolate is a source of iron. Recent research has found chocolate to be very heart healthy. As with any stimulant, daily use is not advised. Chocolate is an important and helpful ally for women. Guilt about eating it and belief that it is damaging to your health interferes with your ability to hear and respond to your body wisdom. If you want to eat chocolate - do it; and get the best. But if you're doing it every day - eat more weeds.
    * Excess phosphorus accelerates bone loss and demineralization. Phosphorus compounds are second only to salt as food additives. They are found in carbonated beverages, soda pop; white flour products, especially if "enriched" (bagels, cookies, cakes, donuts, pasta, bread); preserved meats (bacon, ham, sausage, lunch meat, and hot dogs); supermarket breakfast cereals; canned fruit; processed potato products such as frozen fries and instant mashed potatoes; processed cheeses; instant soups and puddings.
    * To avoid phosphorus overload and improve calcium absorption:

o Drink spring water and herbal infusions; avoid soda pop and carbonated water.
o Eat only whole grain breads, noodles, cookies, and crackers.
o Buy only unpreserved meats, cheeses, potatoes.
o Avoid buying foods with ingredients; they are highly processed.

    * Excess salt leaches calcium. Women eating 3900 mg of sodium a day excrete 30 percent more calcium than those eating 1600 mg. The main sources of dietary sodium are processed and canned foods. Seaweed is an excellent calcium-rich source of salt. Sea salt may be used freely as it contains trace amounts of calcium. Salt is critical for health; do not eliminate it from your diet.
    * Increase hydrochloric acid production (in your stomach) and you'll make better use of the calcium you consume. Lower stomach acid (with antacids, for example) and you will receive little bone benefit from the calcium you ingest. Some ways to acidify:

o Drink lemon juice in water with or after your meal.
o Take 10-25 drops dandelion root tincture in a little water before you eat.
o Use calcium-rich herbal vinegars in your salad dressing; put some on cooked greens and beans, too.

Step 5a: Use Supplements

    * I really wish you wouldn't use calcium supplements. They expose you to dangers and don't prevent fractures. A study in Australia that followed 10,000 white women over the age of 65 for six and a half years found "Use of calcium supplements was associated with increased risk of hip and vertebral fracture; use of Tums antacid tablets was associated with increased risk of fractures of the proximal humerus."
    * If you insist on supplements, go for calcium-fortified orange juice or crumbly tablets of calcium citrate. Chewable calcium gluconate, calcium lactate, and calcium carbonate are acceptable sources. Dolomite, bone meal, and oyster shell are best avoided as they usually contain lead and other undesirable minerals.
    * For better bones, take 500 mg magnesium (not citrate) with your calcium. Better yet, wash your calcium pill down with a glass of herbal infusion; that will provide not only magnesium but lots of other bone-strengthening minerals, too.
    * Calcium supplements are more effective in divided doses. Two doses of 250 mg, taken morning and night, actually provide more usable calcium than a 1000 mg tablet.

Step 5b: Use Drugs

Even if you take hormone therapy (ERT or HRT) you must get adequate calcium to maintain bone mass, according to researchers at Columbia University. That's 1200-1500 mg a day (a cup of plain yogurt, two cups of nettle infusion, a splash of mineral-rich vinegar, plus three figs is about that). As you increase your intake of calcium-rich foods/herbs, gradually cut back on your hormone dose if you wish.

Step 6: Break & Enter

Bone density tests are frequently used to push women into taking hormones or drugs. If your bone density is low, use the remedies in this section and schedule another test (for at least six months later) before agreeing to such therapies.
