20,000 herbal pills seized in Darwen destroyed

A HAUL of 20,000 ‘herbal ecstasy’ pills seized from a house in Darwen have been destroyed.

Forensic police tested the tablets found in a terrace house in Higher Church Street on October 7, and found they all contained the chemicals Benzylpiperazine and Trifl-uoromethylphenylpiperazine.

Despite their legality, the pills have been destroyed because nobody claimed ownership of them.

A 33-year-old woman initially arrested for the haul along with a quantity of cannabis plants has been released on police bail until January 6 pending further inquiries.
